One Hour To Feed 200

The Fresh Paint team spent our lunch hour making 200 ham and cheese sandwiches – it was surprisingly fun and felt good to contribute even in a small way. Each quarter we volunteer in our community and it turns out that we get more from it as a team than ever anticipated. Our simple sandwich production line went smooth even though some of us had to quality check the cheese on a regular basis. Of course, it was to make sure we were putting together the best ham and cheese sandwiches ever.

About The Sandwich Project of Minnesota

Each year, various organizations put together programs for Thanksgiving and Christmas to help feed, clothe and take care of those less fortunate. There is a remarkable amount of time, energy and money that goes into these programs. An honest question, pondered by those who participate is; what happens on the other days of the year?

The Sandwich Project of MN was established with the other days in mind. Our starting goal was to help feed 150 homeless & hungry people in Minneapolis as many times a year as possible, with the ultimate goal of doing it everyday of the year. Today, we are helping to feed about 800 people per week through various shelters and food shelves.

Our process is simple: groups of people sign up to make sandwiches and deliver directly to our community partners. We are currently serving food shelves in the Minneapolis area.

The Sandwich Project is a grassroots organization built on anonymous donations of time, talent and treasures. All donations are given and used with the purpose of feeding those less fortunate.
